Combustion Engine
Combustion Engine
Preorder - Ships June 2025
By your request–the first (and only) wireless, rechargeable blower. A Giant Grill Gauge's best friend.
Combustion Engine
You wanted wireless temperature control? You got it.
The Combustion Engine™ is our entirely wireless draft-control fan that teams up with your Giant Grill Gauge or Predictive Thermometer to maintain rock-steady temps for 24+ hours on a single charge.
Control the temperature inside your grill by controlling the draft to the fire. More air flow = more combustion = more heat = higher temp, hence, the Combustion Engine!
The blower gets your coals up to temp quickly and the variable-speed fan holds it right in the sweet spot - locking in a perfect smoking temp for long periods.
No more worries about flare-ups or flame-outs, no fiddling with vents.
Turn the giant knob (we love knobs) to set your desired grill temp, and let it work its magic. Or set the grill temp using the Combustion app.
The Combustion Engine receives the cooking temperature directly from the gauge or thermometer and adjusts to stay on target.
Ditch the rat’s nest of wires. The Combustion Engine is the only wireless, rechargeable blower on the market.

Shipping
All orders are shipped in the order received.
It takes 1-3 business days to process orders and get them on their way. At that point, you'll get a shipping confirmation email. Shipped!
In periods of very high demand, products may be temporarily back ordered while we are waiting for inventory to arrive.
In that case, the estimated ship date will be listed in checkout (for example “ESD: Aug 21, 2023”) - that’s when your order is expected to arrive at our US warehouse for processing.
When it arrives depends on the shipping method, location and (for international orders) customs inspections and other random events.
Domestic shipping
Prices and shipping options are listed in checkout. (Please don't use the fast delivery options for products that are out of stock or for preorders. It won't get there faster.)
Worldwide shipping
No surprises! We ship to most countries Delivered Duties Paid (DDP). That means everything-taxes, duties, import fees, and shipping fees-are calculated and pre-paid at check-out.
Do I need an adapter/mounting kit?
Our standard adapter—we call it the snout—is a high-temperature silicone duct with compressible silicone foam and a spring retention clip. It can fit onto many grills and smokers that have typical adjustable vent holes in the bottom of the grill, like a Weber Kettle grill, Weber Smokey Mountain, a PK Grill, and many more.
For others, we offer a variety of mounting plates that attach to the snout and then mount directly to your grill or smoker. This allows you to easily remove the blower from the snout between uses.
Adapters can be added to your order now or as an accessory anytime before it ships. (And yes, you can order “extra” standard snouts - that way, the Combustion Engine can be easily moved from your favorite smoker to your other favorite smoker.)

- Small Kamado plate - 84 x 70mm (3.3 x 2.75in)
Threaded mounts (designed to screw into ball valve)
- Designed to screen into common ball valve sizes: ¾in, 1.5in, 2in
30mm Port
- Fits ports 30mm / 1.18in in diameter
Does the Combustion Engine have a "sear" mode?
Yessssss. Fire it up! Turn the dial to “max” to get those coals pumping. That’s awfully handy even when you’re not smoking.
Do I need the Giant Grill Gauge to use the Combustion Engine?
You’ll need either the Giant Grill Gauge OR a Predictive Thermometer measuring the grill/chamber temp. That input tells the Combustion Engine how much to blow to keep the temp steady. You can set the target temp using the dial, the gauge, or the Combustion app.
Connecting either tool to the Combustion app provides another level of features - temp tracking, graphing, temp alerts, and more goodness.
How powerful is the fan?
The fan is sized to supply up to 15CFM (cubic feet/min), which is honestly overkill for most grills and smokers. In most cases, the engine will reduce the fan’s output automatically.
When set to max temperature, the fan will output it's full power to stoke the fire as hot as possible.
How difficult is it to install the Combustion Engine?
It depends on the grill or smoker in question. Some grills are super easy and require no tools, others might require you to drill a hole at an appropriate location for the fan exhaust.
So, long story short, it’s as difficult (or easy, depending) as installing pretty much any third-party blower.
Before we ship, we will have installation guides available for the most popular grills.
How long does it take to recharge?
Recharging time depends on the power supply and USB cable you use. It’s a big battery.
- 24hrs with 5V USB 2.0
- 4 hrs with USB type-C
- 1 hour with USB type-C rated for power delivery (PD)
*Power supply not included.
Can it run on power too?
It sure can. You can run it from the USB port, and if using USB type C power supply, it can run and charge at the same time.
